Did you know that I write a newsletter article every single day? I do this on Substack and my daily newsletter is called "8-Figure Farmers". There I share the mental and financial practices that are needed to have an 8-figure net worth ($10,000,000).

6 Minute Jobs
Last week I ran my first ever sub 6 minute mile (5:55ish) and I recorded the experience in "8-Figure Farmers" on Substack. You can read that article here: 6 Minutes - by Grant - 8-Figure Farmers
It got me thinking, while I was running that (sub) 6 minute mile, what could you have been doing on the farm to get ahead?
Here are some practical things that take around 6 minutes to do — great for building habits, squeezing in quick tasks, or resetting your day:
Farm/Work-Related
Check and respond to priority emails or texts
Walk a field edge and take quick crop notes
Make a to-do list for the day
Update your cash flow spreadsheet with yesterday’s expenses
Clean out the cab of your truck or tractor
Record a quick video update for your landlord or banker
Walk around a piece of equipment and inspect for issues
Personal/Everyday Life
Brew a cup of coffee
Do a fast bodyweight workout (pushups, squats, planks)
Take a short walk to clear your head
Meditate or breathe deeply (1 min per breath cycle = 6 total)
Read 3–5 pages of a book
Journal one thing you’re grateful for, one lesson learned, and one thing to focus on
Clean one junk drawer or counter space
Mental Reset or Focus
Set a 6-minute timer and brainstorm ideas on a whiteboard
Review your goals and calendar
Listen to a motivational or educational podcast clip
Sit quietly, no phone, no screen—just let your brain breathe
Over the next week, try something new that you can complete in 6 minutes or less. It might just be the refresh or start of a new habit that you were needing in your life!
